Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Canticle collects, how it is used, and what choices you have when using Canticle.cc — including Feed/community, MVP waitlist and contributions, Console shells, Docs MVP gating, SEAM downloads, accounts, planned billing, forms, and related services.
Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to Canticle.cc and related public site features, including:
- SEAM downloads and account-gated download flows
- Feed / community features
- MVP waitlist and contributions pages
- Console shells (account, plan, usage, and billing UI shells)
- Docs MVP gating and documentation access controls
- Contact forms, beta signup, demos, research pages, and related services
Third-party sites and services linked from Canticle.cc have their own privacy policies. This policy does not control those third parties.
Information We Collect
Canticle collects information in a few basic ways:
- Information you provide: name, email, preferred contact method, project details, form messages, beta access requests, waitlist/contribution responses, feedback, and support or inquiry content.
- Account and profile information: email address, authentication status, display name or profile fields you set, access state, MVP status flags, download interactions, and related account metadata when account-gated features are used.
- Feed / community content: posts, comments, reactions, and related community interactions you choose to publish or submit.
- Usage and device information: pages visited, referring pages, approximate location derived from network data, browser type, device type, timestamps, and interactions with site features (including Console and Docs gating).
- Technical logs: IP address, request metadata, error data, security events, and server or edge logs generated by hosting, authentication, analytics, or download infrastructure.
- Billing records (when checkout exists): processor and customer identifiers, payment status, selected plan, invoice and transaction records, credits/adjustments, and limited payment-method metadata. Canticle does not currently collect card or bank-account details through the waitlist, and paid checkout is not live.
Do not submit secrets, private keys, passwords, protected health information, financial account data, or sensitive third-party data through public forms or Feed posts.
Account and Profile Data
When you create or use an account, Canticle may store authentication identifiers, email, profile display fields you provide, session data (see the Cookie Policy), access flags for gated features, and Console shell state associated with your account.
MVP status vs MVP vault: MVP is two different things. MVP status is an account flag. MVP vault is separate access. Status does not equal vault access. The first 1000 accounts get MVP status automatically; vault access is separate. This policy does not invent vault grant rules.
Feed and Community Content
If you use Feed or related community features, Canticle processes the content you post or submit (including text and any attached media the feature allows), along with timestamps, account association, and moderation or abuse-prevention signals needed to operate the community surface.
Public posts may be visible to other users. Do not post personal data about others without authority, or confidential material you are not allowed to share.
Waitlist, MVP Contributions, and Billing Information
When you join or update the hosted-SEAM waitlist or MVP / contributions waitlist flows, Canticle records contact email, operating system or environment details you provide, planned tier choice where shown, price acceptance at the displayed list price, use case, requested timing, current solution, optional notes, communication consent, and Canticle account ID when signed in. This information is used to measure demand, plan platform support and capacity, prioritize cohorts, contact you about availability, and let you update or withdraw your response.
Canticle does not currently collect card or bank-account details through the waitlist. Joining is free and is not a subscription or payment authorization. MVP status is not vault access and is not a paid entitlement.
If paid services launch and you affirmatively complete checkout, the payment processor shown at checkout will receive the payment-account and billing details needed to process the transaction. Canticle may receive processor and customer identifiers, payment status, selected plan, invoice and purchase/transaction records, credits or adjustments, and limited payment-method metadata. Canticle does not need to receive your full card or bank-account number from the processor to operate the subscription.
How We Use Information
Canticle uses information to:
- Operate, maintain, debug, secure, and improve the site, Feed, Console shells, and Docs MVP gating.
- Respond to inquiries, project requests, beta requests, support messages, and feedback.
- Provide account-gated downloads, MVP status tracking, contribution waitlists, and related communications.
- Administer hosted-SEAM waitlists and, if launched, paid plans, usage records, invoices, billing support, and account notices.
- Understand page traffic, feature usage, and site performance.
- Detect abuse, spam, scraping, fraud, attacks, unauthorized access, and Terms / Acceptable Use violations.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce site terms.
Cookies and Analytics
Canticle.cc uses necessary cookies / local storage for authentication sessions and related site functions, preference storage where applicable, and Google Analytics to understand traffic and usage patterns. Details are in the standalone Cookie Policy.
You can control cookies through your browser settings and can use tools provided by Google or your browser to limit analytics collection. Blocking cookies or scripts may affect some site features.
International Users and Transfers
Canticle operates a public internet site. If you access Canticle.cc from outside the country where Canticle’s primary operators or processors are located, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where service providers run infrastructure. Those countries may have privacy laws different from the laws where you live.
By using the site, you understand that information may be transferred to and processed in these locations as needed to operate Canticle.cc. This policy does not appoint a GDPR representative or claim a specific compliance certification.
Third-Party Services
Canticle may use or link to third-party services, including Google Analytics, GitHub, Cloudflare Pages, Supabase or similar authentication/storage providers, the payment processor shown at checkout if paid services launch, donation platforms, social networks, and email or form processors. These providers may process information under their own terms and privacy policies.
When you leave Canticle.cc or interact with a third-party widget, repository, payment page, social profile, or authentication provider, that third party's rules may apply.
Retention
Canticle keeps information for as long as reasonably needed to operate the site, respond to requests, provide access, maintain records, improve services, protect against abuse, resolve disputes, and comply with law. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and the system where it is stored.
If an account is deleted, suspended, restricted, or terminated, Canticle may still retain information when reasonably needed for security, legal compliance, abuse prevention, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, backups, accounting, audit trails, platform integrity, or enforcement of the Terms of Service.
Security
Canticle uses reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, but no website or internet transmission is perfectly secure. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials, email account, and devices secure.
Your Choices and Rights Requests
You can:
- Use browser settings to block or delete cookies (see the Cookie Policy).
- Use available Google Analytics opt-out tools or browser privacy controls.
- Choose not to submit optional form fields.
- Update or withdraw waitlist / contribution responses through the relevant forms.
- Request correction or deletion of information you submitted, subject to legal, security, and operational retention needs.
- Stop using account-gated downloads, Feed posting, Console, or beta features.
For access, correction, deletion, do-not-sell, or similar privacy requests, contact Canticle through the contact page. Include enough detail for Canticle to locate your information and verify the request.
Children's Privacy
Canticle.cc is not directed to children under 13, and Canticle does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 submitted personal information, contact Canticle so it can be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.
Changes to This Policy
Canticle may update this Privacy Policy as the site, analytics, account features, Feed, Console, downloads, or legal requirements change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
